    Good for beginners

If you have been wondering about Magic The Gathering but don't want to put a bunch of cash in to it this is a good game to pick up and give it a try. If you all ready play magic but are tired of spending all that money on it to stay competitive this is a good game to pick up. And if you like to play magic and don't really care what deck you play and are just looking to get your fix for the week this is probably a good game to pick up. But if your like me and like to tinker with different decks and don't mind putting a bit of cash in to it every once in awhile this probably won't saditsfy you for long.
    DECKS
All the decks are pre-made decks some what designed to be competitive with each other. You can not change any of the core cards in the decks but you can add cards that you win from playing the AI in the campaign mode you can get 15-17 cards to add to the decks these are in general pretty good cards my problem with this is you can't as mentioned before remove cards that are all ready in the pre-built decks and adding more then 3 or 4 of these cards will mess with your mana/spell ratio and makes you get the dreaded mana screw you also can't use cards you won for one deck in another deck this basically forces you to play the AI opponents over and over again to get all the cards for each deck. You also only get the pre-made decks you can't build your own from scratch so your stuck with these pre-built decks.
    ONLINE
The online mode is either 1v1 or up to 4 player free for all if you want to play 2 headed giant your team mate has to be in the same room on a second controller. One thing that really annoys me is if your in a multiplayer FFA if the host loses they are not going to stick around so they drop and the whole game drops with them this is really annoying and should have had some kind of fix for it before they released it.
    GAME PLAY
The game does play well and the interface works well hell I think it works better then the garbage that is MTGO v3

Over all if all your looking for is a fairly cheap way of trying Magic out or just want a few quick games every once in awhile pick it up it will fill that purpose. If most of the fun in magic for you is the building and playing different decks you can probably pass. But it is only 800 points and maybe they will patch it so you can build your own decks at some point.

I would have given this a 4/5 if they didn't have that annoying game dropping when the host quits and let you build your own decks or even just let you remove cards you don't want from the pre-mades. And 5/5 if they had some kind of tournament or league play.

      I'll counter that 0

Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers is a game that's hard to judge. It's going to provide something radically different for different people, and your own enjoyment of it will depend heavily on your history with the Magic card game itself. In short, Duels of the Planeswalkers is a great introduction for newcomers, but might not offer the level of depth and customization that Magic veterans ultimately seek. For those not in the know, Magic the Gathering is a ridiculously complex (but...

Just the right amount of Magic? 0

I played Magic a good bit when I was in college ten years ago.  I was at the level that I participated in local tournaments and maybe bought multiple boxes of a set so I could get 4 Rares to put in a deck.  I stopped playing as my life got more full, and now I play once in a blue moon.  I have to admit the thought of trying to get back into it is a daunting one because I don't want to spend the time accumulating all of the cards needed to play at the level I want to.So when I heard about Magic: ...
