He appears to be a middle school-aged boy but his true age is unknown. Mario is hinted to have met Arcueid and Ciel at some point in the past.
Though Mario prefers to act behind the scenes, he is not afraid to take matters into his own hands. He makes use of a Mystic Code known as the "Piano Machine," a pair of magic gauntlets that let him attach thin piano wires to his targets to control their physical movements. In Melty Blood: Type Lumina, he can also use his Piano Machine to slice opponents with the wires, or call upon Church Executor nuns to fight with him.
