I never played Tatsunoko vs. Capcom so if the controls are like that then they will be different to me.

The controls have been switched to a Heavy Attack/Light Attack versus Light Punch/Heavy Punch and Light Kick/Heavy Kick in order to make the game more accessible to newcomers, MvC2 had a very steep learning curve, so they're trying to make the game less intimidating (If you've played any of the DBZ Budokai games, you'll know what the controls are like). They've also added a launcher button so it's easier to start air combos.
I personally welcome these new changes, because I got the XBLA version of MvC2 and am still struggling to pull off combos.
