Does anyone know if you'll be able to change your imported character's appearance before starting ME2?

Yes. Thank goodness. My Shepard looked a bit... off. Probably will stick with the default one, since he really looks better than anything you can make in the creator.

Yes. Their is a story reason for why you can change your appearance and class.

Kinda off topic but here goes. 
Does anyone else remember when pre-launch mass effect when Casey Hudson was talking about "how extensive" the character creation was, and that you could create anyone you wanted? 
This was when he had the huge like 40 min gameplay preview, and he said that "I dare you to look over and create the person sitting next to you". 
Well, I think it was complete crap. Hopefully we have a better character creator in ME2, My Female Shepard needs a tune up. It would also be nice if you could modify the default Shepard.

Their is a code at the bottom of the creating a character page that you can paste here so we can create the Shepard you made, if it is a celebrity or whatever.

It needs a default female Shepard that looks as good (not in a gay way) as the default male Shepard.

If your Shepard had a gnarly scar on his face like mine did, it will be gone and I don't think you can reproduce it. Probably has to do with the terminator-scars they introduced.
Also I think it reset iris color, had to manually set it to blue (was brown).

Thank goodness. I chose a backstory of coming from slavery if I remember correctly from the first Mass Effect and had the ridiculous idea that he should still have some remnants of malnutrition in his features to match the backstory. I realized an hour in how dumb it was and had to deal with staring at oddly shaped cheek bones whenever he turned his head to the side. Hilariously awful decision, I know.

Im hoping I can have the exact same shepard from Mass Effect 1, scars and all, since ive gotten attached to him and how he looks.

I think I will keep my character form my final playthough of ME, the Lvl 60 Soldier, but modify him a little with either more beard or no beard, the very short trimmed beard never really worked out and because of what happens in the story in ME2, he is gonna change into a Vanguard. How about everyone else, importing or starting from scratch?

I'm guessing you can't change gender? Because I'd love for Shepard to suddenly change gender for no apparent reason.

I think i am going to change my shepard to the 'canon' Shepard. Everything else looks...fake...

I started up ME yesterday to get my char exactly the way I want it... But to my surprise, my char actually looked pretty damned good, so it'll just be minor tweaking. I rememberd her as looking really strange, but no, she's hot! Yay!

I don't like Miranda Lawson as a brunette so much, her face seems more fitting with blonde hair.
