i've noticed with the game, that once i installed both discs, i no longer had to switch discs to go to certain parts of the map, as well as of course the better load times and whatnot. is my not having to switch discs a direct result of installing the game, or is it just that once you get to disc 2 you never have to touch disc 1 again?

Uh, what are you playing on? On the 360, I had to switch discs back and forth several times, despite the 10gb (or whatever) installation. Kind of pissed me off.

i'm playing on 360. i installed both discs and have never had to switch discs afterward by simply keeping disc 2 in the tray all the time.

I installed both, after hitting 2, and I still had to put 1 back in near the end (in order to bone, I had to switch discs...).

Errr wait. There are two discs? Sorry, I haven't got the game yet, but I had thought that perhaps that was only for the PC version. Are the disc switches frequent?

As far as I'm aware you only have to switch discs twice, once at the middle of the game and then again at the end.

Also I was going to install the game to my hard drive but if you still have to swap discs I might not bother.

Okay thanks! I don't even have enough space to install ME2 on my old 20GB X360 HDD.

The only reason I installed was for the sweet sound of silence from the disc drive.

I installed disc two since that is the one most everything is on.  Disc one only has the story stuff from the very first portion and ending as well as most of the map.  Disc two has the entire map and the middle section of the story.

I've only installed disc 1, but I know you're ahead of me...will see what happens after I go through some more missions.
