Just to be claer here END OF THE GAME SPOILERS DONT SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU!

Ok so. im not quite sure if im happy where things left off( i might have to go back.) I did not destroy the Collector base, the  Illusive man talked me in to keeping it. Also i lost a few squad members. Tane(my love interest) did not make it out of the tunnel alive, that DLC Merc also died, and Ligon died. One thing i was dissapointed with was the end game boss. So the Collectors are building a giant Terminator? It kinda of came off as cheesy IMO. What happen for you?

The reveal of the Human Reaper was a little puzzling at first but having learned that the Collectors were traversing the galaxy kidnapping humans and melting down them into fuel for their creation was a fairly disturbing thought. In the end, my team took it down, but spared the Collector base for research. I'm happy to say my entire team made it out alive only to be greeted with, what looked like, an army of Reapers... so... bring on Mass Effect 3!

Are you talking about just the suicide mission at the end, or most Important choices in the game that are going to have a huge bearing on ME3 (fate of the Krogan, Rachni, Quarian and Geth) (the choices during your Characters loyalty mission). The choices that will affect the war with Reapers anyway

I am going to assume the latter(so huge spoilers)

Krogan: On the road to Unification. also Convinced Mordin that Geno-phage must be cured.( All Made Wrex a more powerful King, By eliminating his rivals and Making Grunt Join his clan)

    Rachni: rebuilding, Preparing for Reapers

Qurian: Suggested peace with Geth and rebuild on a new colony. Also preparing for Reapers

Geth: Re-unified using virus, No more heretic faction fighting for the reapers against organics. All Geth Now oppose Reapers. War between Quarian and Geth Avoided.

Had a paragon ending for ME1 for Human, Turian , salarian and Asari Council.  Also Had them re-instate my Specter status despite ties with Cerberus.

    Now the Sucide Mission.
Going in with all upgrades and full loyalty

    -Everyone survived Space Battle.

    -Legion was my specialist Infiltrator.

    -Garus led the Fire team

    -Jack was the Biotic Bubble

-Sent Mordin to escort crew back to Normandy

-Garus Lead Fire team #2 again

-Took Samara and Legion to Final Boss fight. (I know why Samara, Did not want to risk her Dieing).

-Took Legion's adivce and Kept the Collector Base for Illusive Man

    Everyone survived.

Informed Illusive Man there will be consequences if he abuses Collector Tech

Legion then says may be not best Idea to keep Collector base.
(only decision I am not sure about, what will Cerberus do with Collector tech)

(Better hang on to my save before That decision.).

Everyone survived for me, I was puzzled throughout the game though on how I didn't complete Thane's side mission. I updated him at every stop and his son still dropped that diplomat, guess i'll have to try again on my next few playthroughs.

Everyone lived for me as well. Just make the logical decisions for your teamleaders and specialists. Blew that station the F up, would be crazy to tempt Skynet!

I actually don't think they handled the ending quite well. If you spend the whole game developing your relationships with the characters and buying all the upgrades for the Normandy, it probably means that you don't want anything bad to happen in the end. It means that you care about your virtual crew, and that you want everyone to survive. And sure enough, in the end, if you do all that, everyone survives. But that's kind of boring in my opinion. It reminds me of a Rev Rant I've seen on Destrucoid where the guy said that games often give you what you want, and that takes away from the impact of the story.

Look at GTA IV for instance (spoilers ahead), if you chose to do what Roman wants at the end, he dies. If you chose to do what the girl wants (forgot her name), then she dies. The game makes sure that the person dying is the one you care about the most, which makes it way more emotional.

I think at least one character should die in Mass Effect 2, no matter what. When eveyone makes it, the whole idea of suicide mission and sacrifice falls flat.

By the way, I realy thought something bad was going to happen because I couldn't get Jack to be loyal to me. I thought she would betray everyone or something, but they don't even do that. :/

I do agree with you. Now that i have had time to think about it, the Team members that died at the edn of the game hit me pretty hard. When i saw Tane get carryed away by the collector swarm i got upset/sad and wanted blood. when the Merc died i didn't really care. mainly cuz i just recruited him right before all the shit went down on the Normandy. When died Legion that also sucked cuz he was like my Data and i got Him and Tali to become friendly.  I did save the rest of the Normandy crew.

    Tali in the vents

    Garus Fireteam 1

    Meranda for the Bubble  (failed)

Merc for fire team 2 (Failed)

Garus and Jack for the end game boss. (Survived)

There's a guide to show the right combo of people to do each job and keep everyone alive. As for Thane, chances are that your ship wasn't enhanced. Make sure to upgrade the ship's hull and shield and buy the gun upgrade also.

Managed to save everyone on my first try, thankfully. Here's what I did:

Legion went in the vents, Garrus led both Fire Teams. Jack used the biotic shield, and I sent Jacob back with the crew. Took Samara and Miranda with me to the final battle. Finally I blew up the base and told the Illusive Man to fuck off because I was playing Paragon, and surprisingly Miranda agreed with me and even quit Cerberus at the same time! I don't know if that's because I romanced her or not, but it was a really cool moment and made me fistpump a little bit.

@gosukiller: Agreed. As  Cerberus did aid you, it was still on there own interests. The illusive man wishes for "Humanities gain" Which of course also means his gain. As demonstrated with the Ascension Project  which he did indeed have his hands in (Refer to books lololol) he may seem like hes a honorable do gooder, but he has no limits - People like that with warped ideals tend to cause quite the shit storm.
The reapers have showed the power indoctrination and the ability to be completely insane. There was that high possibility that SOMETHING would go wrong with it. For example - A) Cerberus dose some shenanigans and causes human domination of the galaxy. B) Reapers show up, gain control of everyone in the base-Business as usual C) Cerberus DOSE indeed make a reaper on "There side" Turns on everyone and Skynet dose indeed occur.
In other words-Too much shit could go wrong with keeping the damn thing. Tempting to leave it but as the tree said, I do believe "This doesn't feel right". And generally if it seems bad it probably is. Anyways all said and done will play through again and choose to keep it.
Also, everyone lived for me despite Jack being a prick. Alls well that ends well.
