My Companions at the end of the game that i brought with me to Earth got hit by that Mako and died.. i didnt get any extra dialogue, is there a reason for that? (I had 3500 EMS.. if that matters.)

From what I've seen.. Most of the time they don't get hit, or are only injured.. :\\ I had Javik and Garrus.
