Hell the trailer theme from the second game was used for mainstream products like the DVD version of the Pacific for HBO!! We need more epic shit like this!!
Mass Effect 3
Game » consists of 19 releases. Released Mar 06, 2012
When Earth begins to fall in an ancient cycle of destruction, Commander Shepard must unite the forces of the galaxy to stop the Reapers in the final chapter of the original Mass Effect trilogy.
I hope we get some bad ass music from this game
That song was made by Two Steps From Hell. They make a bunch of songs that appear in both movies and trailers. I'm hoping their next album is just as good.
Bioware went and hired Clint Mansell to compose the music. His music for the scifi movie Moon was really good.
and can't forget the track that made him famous. Lux Aeterna (Two Towers version)
Seems like there is already one track out. Don't know if this is the main theme, but I'm really liking the direction where this is going.
The Music used in the Trailer for the Collectors Edition of ME3 sounded really good. I don't know if it was by him though.
I am really hoping for a return to form for the Soundtrack seeing how great the first Games Soundtrack was. Mass Effect 2 was kind of a let down in some cases but it had some good pieces but no where near as good as ME1.
From my two data points, ME1 and ME2, I can only extrapolate that the ME3 soundtrack will be a boring mess of mainstream movie-esque music. Which makes me real sad, because ME1 soundtrack was amazing.
Still, one can hope.
(And gentlemen, trailer soundtracks usually have nothing to do with the soundtrack proper, soundtracks gets made late in the developement progress, for movies and games, therefore other artists are used for pre-release material. Case in point, how every goddamn trailer is scored by Two Steps from Hell. Like on top of this very page)
@NoCookiesForYou: Not a bad piece of incidental music but as a main theme it leaves something to be desired.

Turns out in addiction to Clint Mansell, Sam Hulick, the guy that worked with Jack Wall on Mass Effect 1 and 2's soundtrack, worked on the Mass Effect 3 soundtrack. This means it not going to be completely different from the other two games.
Also, according to Sam Hulick's Facebook page, the soundtrack is officially finished.
I hope the soundtrack is great as well! The Mass Effect 1 credits song ("M4 Part 2" by Faunts) will always be one of the most incredible songs ever used in the series.
The song seen in that trailer for The Pacific is a song from Two Steps from Hell that both Bioware and the producers of The Pacific likely paid for the license to use. You'll recognize it around 1:10 in.
I really like that ME3 song from Clint Mansell up above. It has a very somber mood to it that invokes a more serious tone. Music is so evocative.
Disappointed that Jack Wall left but I hope the main theme is still used. I liked the soundtrack in the first two: First one reminded me so much of '70s-'80s science fiction (design-wise, the scenes in those underground facilities with brown/red walls reminds me so much of Star Trek: Wrath of Khan) and the 2nd game's soundtrack is reminiscent of '80s-'90s science fiction (the tracks "Mordin" and "Thane" sound exactly like Tron sounds).
