As a hispanic, I hated James Vega. Dude is a massive stereotype. All that guy did was lift weights, talk shit in the garage with the only other hispanic on the ship (who was always working on cars, incidentally), and make up stupid nicknames like "loco" for everyone. It took all of my willpower to not go Renegade during that sparring match and knock him the fuck out. Right then and there he got benched. (Seriously, the universal translator in the series apparently has zero trouble with any language except Quarian and Spanish, apparently, because that's just how alien hispanics are.)

EDI and Javik made ME3 worthwhile. I brought them along for everything. It was my Soldier Shepard, biotic and engineering combo, ready to take on any unexpected situation. Picked up Energy Drain off of Tali and we pretty much decimated anything that got in our way.

The ME3 selection was pretty barebones, honestly. My character selection was partially based on skill, but a lot of it was based on perspective, like who did I want to hear more from? ME1 I got my Asari and Quarian viewpoint, ME2 I got my Salarian and Drell viewpoint, and ME3 I got my AI and Prothean viewpoint. Ashley and James were my least favorite characters from the series. Well, them and Jacob Taylor.

Really? for me It was the total opposite the "loco" thing was ok he had silly nicknames for everyone and sure he wasn't the pincacle of Latin American society but he isn't suppose to be the dude is a soilder so he talks like one in that kinda cheesy saucy latino in the group , plus his banter with Garrus trying to one up each other and cooking something with Javik made me warm up to him, Cortez had more hispanic roots than him and he didn't came off as stereotypic or anything to me but I can see someone not liking him, the only thing that bother me about him was just one line of dialog "do you hear that hum?" the implications of that make that line so creepy to me.

I chose James Vega to go with me on my missions because my femShepard was an adept, and his skills was primarily in shooting, and I thought that was useful. I also took Kaidan along too.

In other news AbuelaCarnage would be an amazing band name.

My fanfiction is a lot smarter than that. Garrus is way too smart to almost die by forgetting that all Earth food is incompatible with his immune system. For shame Moosey.

Well, I didn't want to spoil the whole thing, but in my fan-fiction, Garrus gets a bad head injury (this time on the side of his face with the space monocle), and he gets amnesia and thinks he's James Vega's younger brother, and forgets about the whole Earth food being bad thing. By the time of the barbecue he's gotten most of his memory back, but not all of it.
