Mass Effect 3 - It's all about the journey

I started playing the series Mass Effect from the very beginning. It was a solid game with rough edges but certainly a step in the right direction when it comes to story driven action rpg's. Characters introduced were amazing in depth, personality and strong in either what I found to be my capacity to either love them or hate them. Mass Effect 2 followed it all up being a true masterpiece of a sequel playing the difficult role of other great trilogies, notably "Empire Strikes Back" and "Halo 2"

I rarely come across games where you are forced to make moral judgement and then face the consequences in spades. Mass Effect 3 brings this into fruition as it's predecessors but does it at a galactic scale. There are key moments in this game where I had to pause and really sit back and "think". My moral core was put to the test so to say. Having invested so much in each character, seeing them make the huge sacrifices necessary to get to this point, then seeing them die was heart wrenching.

This is probably not a game for those just starting out. Personally I would recommend you at least play Mass Effect 2 before playing Mass Effect 3. Given the scale of the story it's better to have full context of what's happening.

Given this is the last of the games in the series, I can honestly say these are a set of games to remember. The world created for this game rivals that of many other epic Sci-Fi universes, "Star Wars", "Star Trek", "Babylon 5" and "Firefly". While I am sad it is now at an end, I hope Bioware decides to move on to another game in the same world.

I would say I’ve been salivating over the arrival of this game since I finished Mass Effect 2, but that would be false. In truth I’ve been clamoring for the epic conclusion of Commander Shepard’s journey ever since I first took down Saren and Sovereign in the first Mass Effect back in 2007. To say that Mass Effect 3 has big shoes to fill would be an understatement seeing as the shoes have become as large as BioWare’s ambition was back when they first set-out to make an epic sci-fi stor...

Mass Effect 3 Review: Fight or Die 0

Mass Effect 3 faces the impossible task of wrapping up a truly epic story arc, improving core gameplay mechanics and satisfying all the fan groups of the series, but it has a damn good go at doing just that. The game has a huge amount of considerations to make, and I do not envy Bioware having to develop this colossus, but the final product is one that has many nervous of the quality that the game can provide. Has Mass Effect fallen into a mainstream design that abandons its roots or has Bioware...
