    MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries

    In this standalone expansion for MechWarrior 4, players create a mercenary unit, hire pilots, build up a lance of powerful BattleMechs, and take contracts from the highest bidder. You'll have to choose which side you fight for in the looming FedCom Civil War.

    First off, I never played the MechWarrior games back when they came out, though I was exclusively a PC gamer during their heyday. Gotta say though, this game is so far pure joy for me, not least because I found that my old Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick is apparently the ideal input method. I don't have much to say, really, except that I'm interested to see who here is also enjoying it, and that I'm really hoping that the supposed new title makes it to release.

    Having been a fan of MechWarrior since MechWarrior 2, this free release is damn awesome! Of course, I already have everything in the free release, but hopefully it'll bring some new blood into the game. MechWarrior games are just a blast to play - it's got quite a lot of depth, and you tend not to see that in games nowadays. I hope this new MechWarrior title does the series justice.
