Some of the puzzles were fun but the combat was just piss poor.
As I have countless times I would love an open world, dynamic weather, destructible environments and no combat.

This. I borrowed a friend's copy of Mirror's Edge, beat it in a couple of days, and haven't touched the game (or even considered touching it) since. It was an okay experience, but not terribly memorable. I barely remember a single detail of the story. In fact, my most prominent memories are of all the sequences that I had to retry time and time again. (And I went through the game without shooting anyone, so I never had to deal with that aspect of the weak combat.) If they can pull an Assassin's Creed 2 and streamline all the problematic areas of the first game, then I'll probably be on board. As it is, though, I'm not excited for this at all. (Then again, I wasn't excited for Red Dead Redemption at all. Now, it's one of my favorite games. So, we shall see.)I like the idea of Mirror's Edge more than the actual game.
Hell yes. I've made Faith characters in APB and Saints Row 2 and tried to make my Xbox character look like Faith I played that Crash Course game with her.
My thoughts exactly when I read the post. This thread just reminded me that the Spike VGAs are happening again this year. :(
Hmm,really cause I never noticed since I was primarily concentrating on getting from point A to B.I still think it's way better than most people gave it credit for. It wasn't perfect, some of the control stuff could be a touch frustrating to figure out (there were a couple times that I just totally lost the timing for rolling after a fall at one particular part and was stuck for 5 minutes till I got it again and then went on to do fine), but other than that, it was a pretty cool game. If they manage to make it more open and not quite so linear, it has a lot of potential. And a better engine is of course always appreciated :D
@popmasterruler:it looks ok, but whenever you got kinda close to anything, especially the global illumination, it just looked super low res and shitty, unfortunately. I don't know if it was better on PC but I seem to remember there not being much difference beyond PhysX.
Mirror's Edge had it's problems but at least it was original and I think the series has potential to grow into something fantastic. Similar to how Assassins Creed went from an interesting game to a game of the year material game in the sequal.
Oh dear god I hope not.AC II was a good game and I know that I'm in the minority but I still think that AC1 is the best entry in the franchise.Since AC II the series has been more focused on action, linear and limited assassinations and flashy set pieces rather than emphasizing stealth while giving you the freedom to kill your target how you want to.Also I felt like AC II went into kill overload in Tuscany/San Giamano when you had to kill four targets.
I did enjoy the feel of the movement and jumping some crazy gaps and stuff gave me some kind of adrenaline boost. When ever there was enemies with guns the game pretty much sucked. Shooting was bad and felt really out of place. Either make it better or don't give the option. I tried to play it again some time ago, but I just couldn't get into it again, which was disappointing. I think the concept absolutely deserves a second chance. I think there are enough examples of mediocre first entries turning into amazing games in their sequels to be optimistic about Mirror's Edge 2.
What I wrote in the duplicate thread:
FUCK. YES.To add on that, I really hope they go open-world with this. Mirror's Edge gave some flexibility as to how you got around, but I want it to be like: here's point A, there's point B. The rest is up to you.
As much as liked the setting of the first, hopefully they take a more organic approach to this one.
I loved the first, everything from the aesthetics to the game play. Definitely excited for a sequel.
