Absolutely not.  The thing is, most games which require talking have proximity chat on so if you're close enough to a dude you can hear them.  That in my opinion is the best method, it's a shame MW2 didn't adopt it.

I think Halo 3 Has proximity chat after you kill someone ... Its always good to hear "OH MY G-" then it cuts out :P

Oh yeah HAlo 3's proximity chat was pretty funny.

I just love games that let you experience some of their reaction to your playing.

I mean most often it's just cussing and insults, but at least you get some satisfaction. I never used Eavesdrop though. Never looked fun and I can see why they'd remove it. Especially on PSN where like 10-20% of people I'm playing with have headsets. Usually less, actually.

In clan matches it was invaluable. Being able to counter their plans before they even put them in motion was fun as hell and a great tactical advantage.

Outside of that, it was useless. More often than not the other team would be busy talking about whatever the hell happened at school that day rather than strategizing.

no i dont miss it. We had to put up with whiny kidsin our team nevermind hearing them in the other team either.

I never used the perk in MW1 as i thought it was pointless, not many people spoke nevermind speaking about their tactics

Ive never played in a clan match on MW2 or MW1 for that matter , So I never saw that tactical side of it :P
A good idea but , useless really . Proximity voice chat wouldve been far superior in clan matches in the MW series .

Eavesdrop was the most worthless perk in COD4. Not to mention that when party chat was introduced its usefulness dropped from "very little" to "nothing".

I think Eavesdrop is a pretty cool guy, he hears the enemy and doesn't afraid of anything.

Nah I never found much use for it, was fun to use in private matches where everyone has it.

I don't necessarily want to use it but it seems kind of weird that they take it out and remove party chat. It made no sense when party chat once party chat was added for it to be in CoD4 but now it actually seems relevant.

Or at least part of a Pro Perk, like SitRep.

But most of the time, the other team ends up being pretty annoying, earning them a mute. Though I could see them being a bit more pleasant to each other can calling out locations and such...

anytime i had it on, no one would be talking.  like the guys said before, they would be talking about other stuff instead of making a strategy.  dont miss it in the least.  its bad enough i have to hear these people in the lobby.

    I miss Eavesdrop.

It was pretty hilarious hearing people's reaction when you actually them once in a while. Its also even more hilarious if you know someone using that perk and saying "Oi, suzy!" right when you're about to knife them in the back.

Plus some people use some of the most useless perk spec and still go on a killing spree.

I get enough "OMG's"/ "WTF's"/ and "You're Gay" comments in the lobby.
