I just came back a while ago from an EB and they were labeling the preorders with the receipts.  They had tons, and I doubt they would run out. You should most definitely be able to get your copy.

I could probably walk into GameStop, not even having the thing reserved and being able to get a copy.  They will probably have 349573489734 copies of the game in-stock since it's one of the biggest games of the year.

Depends if you reserved the game or not. But most likely they have billions of copies.

You should be fine but if they dont have it im sure Best Buy or Wal Mart or target or whatever big box place you like will have it

You could even just go to walmart and you'll find a massive tower of MW2 boxes.

This worries me because I haven't had it reserved (fuck pre-ordering shit) and I plan on showing up.  I might be screwed.

I'm going to make this very clear...anything Acitivion or your retailers said about shortages was BS. A game this large is going to have millions of copies produced. Hell my store technically ran out of copies for preorder but then earlier today received another box of 100 copies. There is literally no way every store out there won't be carrying excess stock of this game.

I doubt they'd actually sell your reserved copy, but there's bound to be tons of copies of that game around anyway.

If they sell your pre-order before the 48 hours are up then they are in violation of company policy and in a lot of trouble. As for Modern Warfare 2 you should have no problems getting a copy. Everyone, especially Gamestop, are well aware that this is the largest video game release of all time and have ordered accordingly. Namely they have an ungodly number of copies. Perhaps too many if you can imagine such a thing. However, this only refers to the regular $60 edition of the game. If you are looking for the Hardened or Prestige you are most likely out of luck unless you go to Ebay or such.
