Here's what I think (I am new to the series):

    1. The text is way too small for me.
    2. This game is tough, and if you mess with a creature you didn't mean to hit while hunting another one, you'll find yourself running away from a stampede.
    3. Needs a pointer. For both camera control and menu navigation.
    4. This game would be epic online.

    What did you think?

An excellent addition to the series. The camera control is especially sweet using the 2nd analog stick or the d-pad if you use the remote+nunchuck instead of the Classic Controller (which I actually found preferable for some weapons, surprisingly enough). No more PSP claw! The underwater stuff and new moves for all the weapons were sweet too. Can't wait for the full game. If anyone has questions about the gameplay feel free to ask (I'm no veteran, but I don't think any are around here, wimps). I wrote a thread here with some basic information using the last PSP game since Tri isn't out here yet. Ask away.

Nope, it's worse. It doesn't have Lagiacrus.

The demo looked great. I have Monster Hunter: FU on the PSP and logged in about 150+ hours with a friend. The game's addicting as hell, but the PSP made my fingers so painful and stiff. I'm looking foward to the new areas, extra monsters, bigger challenges, a more comfortable controller and more friends to play with. Can't wait!

I can't convince anyone around me to play it with me.

    : (

I need more gamer friends... all of mine moved away from it.

    Oh, and

watch a couple of those Newbie guides for the PSP one, you'll get a gist on how to handle monsters.

I really want to love the Monster Hunter franchise, this game included, but something about the archaic battle system is really off-putting.  I had Freedom Unite for about a week, but never getting the hang of any of the controls or weapons, it only led to sadness and returning the game for me.
I'd love to try again some day, but unless they make the game idiot-proof, I fear I'll never enjoy it.

I didn't like the constant load times between areas. It also felt like everything wasn't connected well. I would find a pond and then would go into another area that I appeared to be on a mountain. I also think the combat is kinda stupid. Whats up with the weird button placement? X does an attack, but I can also mash B to stab but I can also do a sweep with R? And I can do an infinite combo with all of it if I just keep it going? And If I mash X and B I do another sweep, but he jumps to the side? Also, the lack of lock on is a bummer. I wound up missing my targets because they were just a bit to the side of where I was slashing. This being said, I kinda still want to play it more. It seems weirdly fun.

I was using a classic controller and using the long sword guy.
