First off... PS3 only.  I guess they don't think Xbox 360 players have a Blu-ray player. :( 
 
Anyway, both the original movie and MK Annihilation are being releasd on Blu-ray in the U.S. on April 19, which is the same day as the game.  If you pick it up, you'll get a classic Jade outfit to go along with your Scorpion, Sub-Zero, or Reptile classic outfit depending on where you buy the game.

I'm pretty sure they'll eventually have them all up as DLC at some point, but yeah... it's pretty lame.

Yeah, this is just atrocious. As much as I want to play this game, I also want to boycott them for this behavior.

I wonder if seeing MK in 1080p will enhance or decrease the camp factor?

I was hoping they'd ship the BD with an actual physical copy of the outfit. Guess this means there's one less thing I have to force the wife in to wearing...

I just realized I've bought both movies 3 times already,  once on VHS, once  on DVD, and once again on a dual disc DVD.  
 
 
now I have to buy both on bluray now!

@Ratcabbage: Yup.  I've been going there for 14 years or so, back when it was mk.hotweird.com.  The guy that runs it, Patrick McCarron, has an account on Giant Bomb as well.

And is an extra Jade costume really worth having Mortal Kombat: Annihilation on Blu-ray?

Yes, likely as paid DLC.
 
This is quickly becoming more ridiculous than the costume packs for Street Fighter IV.

Hmm, interesting. Will probably pick up the first on Blu-ray if it's a good price (under 15). Second? Not a chance.

I don't see why giving you a free costume for buying a fun movie on Blu-ray is as evil as people are making it out to be. It's not like they only included the costume with Annihilation, you can just buy the good MK movie and still get it. I'm getting the 360 version of the game though so I won't have a use for my download code.

Well, hopefully this stuff will be available as DLC since the code in the Blu-ray only works on PS3.

@Hailinel: Well, I'm assuming they'll all be DLC considering you would normally only get one of the classic ninjas depending on where you buy it (plus Ermac if you get one of the special editions).  So, if you buy it at Best Buy, you would need Scorpion and Reptile to be available in DLC to get them. 
 
@Gabriel: I think it's in both of them.  So that should work.

It would have to be one hell of a giveaway to get me to not only see MK Annihilation but own a copy as well.

kinda makes me angry why dont they just make all the costumes which is imposible to get bassicly avaliable if you buy the dvd.....i mean its not even a classic costume i really care about

Hopefully all of these Klassic Kharacter Kostumes become available as DLC at some point.

@jakob187: Yeah, it's pretty amazing they've survived nearly 15 years now. I'm sure it's the oldest bookmark I have.
