Mother Russia Bleeds is strangely unremarkable. Despite all the gore and deviant behaviour on show the lasting impression is one of relative indifference. The clunky and repetitive combat is clearly part of a homage to brawlers of yesteryear but it does the experience no favours and ultimately negates any hope at a proper recommendation. Mother Russia Bleeds is a 2d side-scrolling beat 'em up that takes place in an alternate 1980s Russia in which a fictional drug named nekro rules the streets. You play as one of four characters who was kidnapped and put under trials with the drug. Awesome side scroller beat em up would be 5 stars for me but the dogs are almost impossible to hit which is annoying. Unique story elements and amazing music makes this a great modern trip down memory lane. It has the same great hooks of the quarter munchers of the past but now for 1 price which is great because man can it get difficult quickly....
