Originally developed by Metaplace Inc, My Vineyard was the companies second Facebook game released after shuttering it's Metaplace platform in December of 2009.
Although the game never held a spot on the top of the social games charts, at it's peak it did have over 1.5 million daily active users. On July 8th 2010, social game development company Playdom Inc announced it had acquired Metaplace Inc, at which time My Vineyard became a Playdom Game.
After running for nearly two years, it was announced that on March 31st 2012, My Vineyard would no longer be available to play.
The game contained many advanced features for a social game of it's time, including real-time synchronous game play, player to player selling of items, and in-game multiplayer chat.
