For those of us playing this game, sadly nostalgia pushed me to pre-order, I have found a useful exploit allowing me to pile up cash quickly using an unusual bug/glitch in a story-line event.

After running a few events with Amy (Pink missions I think it's Amy but Amy and Robin are so similar my memory has blurred) you are invited to run a time trial with a max speed target of 140+klm (or equivalent if you play in mph) which has a reward of 7000 gold/money. If you beat the target time (which is simple) but do not make the speed target you receive the full reward even though the mission counts as failed. The Mission is then free to fast-travel back to and re-run repeatedly piling up cash for very little work.

Apologies if this amount is trivial in comparison later on in the game at my current progress it's 3.5 times higher than a standard race.
