    NES Max

    Accessory »

First party NES controller featuring turbo buttons and an 8-way sliding directional input called a cycloid.

    Short summary describing this accessory.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

Released by Nintendo in 1988, the Max is distinguished by its unique sliding "cycloid" control disk. The cycloid replaces the standard NES D-pad, allowing for 8-way control. Around the cycloid is a black plastic ring that can be used for more traditional directional control. Below the B & A buttons are two gray, dome shaped turbo buttons.

The controller has something of a wing shape, similar to the PlayStation controller, only thinner and flatter.
