Duders! I am now a 3DS owner! It might be a bit late but hey, all those good old games for it still exist, so now I need you to name me some of them.
Help me find some diamonds in the rough, some great virtual console classics and share with me what I should spend my 3DS time on.

I think the 3DS can play DS games, so don't forget that library too.

3D Land and Pokemon (either X/Y or ORAS) would be my immediate recommendations.

Yeah check out some DS games. Be wary of some Virtual Console games as they don't offer a way to configure buttons to what you may remember. Example: Early Mario's like SMB3 and the GBA original have you running with the B button which is normal, but jumping with the A instead of the Y button. Its pretty dumb and really awkward.

3DS wise I think you're missing Super Mario 3D Land, Fire Emblem Awakening, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and Majoras Mask.

A link between Worlds is god like so you've made a great choice there.

@i_stay_puft: The 3DS store shows so many options for this, is there a particular one?

I have a few games for mine, but for some awful reason I've only played Pokemon on it. Whenever I open it and Pokemon is the first thing I see, I go "Alright sure."

...soooo, Pokemon OR/AS, X/Y. I have 'em all (I also have a problem but that's beside the point) but any of those are great.

I played the first one but it's a straight port of the European version for DS. For people in the US this version is the only one available. For the most part I thought the soccer matches were pretty cool.

That latest Phoenix Wright game is only available as a download from the eShop. If you're a fan of the series, I'd recommend it.

Etrian Odyssey IV is probably the best EO game out there. Has a free demo on the eshop and progress carries over to the main game. Worth a look if turn-based combat, first-person tile-based dungeon crawling and drawing maps on the bottom screen is your thing.

Attack of the Friday Monsters is a neat little story, reminded my a lot of a studio Ghilbli film. Also definitely play Mario 3d Land.

I've been a bit disappointed with the 3DS library. For me the best games by far are Fire Emblem and Mario 3D Land. The Zelda re-releases are really good too but it depends if you have already played them or not.

Im Thinking about getting a 3Ds. How much 3D am I going to get? Do all games made for the system support it. What are some good game that take advantage of it? Or should I just get the new 3dless version?

@phoenix778m: I believe all games designed for the 3DS have some kind of 3D. As someone who has spent a lot of time playing the 3DS, I'd say it's probably best to just ignore the whole 3D thing anyway. It's an interesting gimmick for a bit, but it's not really worth fussing about. I'd say that 95+% of the time I've had the 3D turned off.

If I understand correctly, the only version without the 3D is the 2DS. I'd still go for a regular 3DS over the 2DS - I'm not a fan of its form factor. But if you don't mind playing games on something that's akin to a giant doorstop, then, sure, go for the 2DS.

yes, fuck/.....dont forget the ds library.

Dawn of Discovery is fucking incredible for a pocket city builder...

I even kind of like the sim city on the DS. its unwieldy as fuck, but once you get used to it, it is kinda interesting and just a bit different.

hotel dusk....oh, jesus. the world ends with you, Radiant Historia, ninja giaden

The Ds had such net novel games.
