Kojima Productions producer Yoshikazu Matsuhana said the following regarding MGS2: Sons of Liberty appearing on Nintendo's 3DS: 

"If the fan feedback is strong enough, we'll consider it. The same goes for other Konami brands if demand is high. Maybe Castlevania!" 
 
 
 
 
I'd prefer some Castlevania myself...I hope Igarashi-san is working on something for the 3DS.

I think they need to ease up on the remakes and ports - as much as I love MGS, even I think releasing MGS3 twice in the same year without very little differences might be too much.

I'd love a Castlevania 3D remake but i do agree with Zero_, there should be more new titles.

I'd love to see a brand new 2D, side-scrolling, Metroidvania-style Castlevania on the 3DS. I adored all three DS Castlevania games. I could imagine that the higher resolution and better processing power of the 3DS could make a game like that look really fucking good.

Give me Castlevania now dammit.

Although the metroidvania style of the Castlevania series after SoTN are great i'd love a return to the original style, like in #4 the faux 3D spinning room turned into real 3D.

Castlevania would make a nice addition, but I'm not getting any MGS game on a portable system. I'll stick with the HD collection for those.

After the number of Castlevania titles on the DS, I'd be surprised if there weren't any on the 3DS.

Castlevania? Hell yes. MGS2? Uh... I kind of played that game already. Twice. Not really an experience I need to relive "again, for the first time, in 3D!"

Yes and no. I want to play MGS2 on my 3DS, but not to the point where I'd want Konami devoting resources to it when they could be making, you know, new 3DS games. For chrissakes, the only 3DS game I want all summer is a remake of a N64 game, not to mention the Team Ico, MGS and ZOE HD remakes! I can always play old games whenever I want. Prettier games are nicer, but they aren't worth the effort if we could be getting brand new content for the same price (or $20 more).
