The Nintendo DS is a handheld featuring two screens, one of which is a resistive touchscreen. Four different models are available: the original DS, the DS Lite, the DSi, the DSi XL.
Great news everyone! It seems like Digital Leisure is bringing the arcade game Dragon's Lair to the DSiWare and it's coming out next week for Americans and January 1st for Europeans. I have never played the original arcade game, but I might have to check this one out to see the game for myself. All I want to know now is how much the game is going to be. It would be awesome if it was only 500 points, but I'm thinking 800 or even 1000 points. What do you guys think about the announcement?
Wow this is really cool, I remember when I had the Dragons Lair game on my NES. Good god that game was awful/hard as fuck. Hooray for more incentive to buy a DSi! Can't wait for Christmas money!!! =D
@oldschool: Not "horrible", but most certainly a relic of old technology. Which isn't a bad thing, but I can't imagine anyone who does not understand, or know of the game's history jumping in enjoying it immensely.
Dragons Lair was made in 1983. It's essentially an interactive FMV game, with the animation done by Don Bluth. (The secret of Nimh/An American tale) It was stuck on a lazer disk and thrown into arcades, you can clearly see the interest of playing this game from a visual standpoint compared to games from that time. You hit the right button when prompted to: you live or die.
There were sequels, as well as another franchise called Space Ace.
This game has been ported to everything except the toaster. I have lost count. It's been recently put on BluRay, and a few years ago a full-blown 3D (surprisingly competent.) platformer was made with Dragons Lair 3D. So no, it's not horrible, just very old.

I remember it mainly as a 'pop culture' thing, used in television shows somewhere. I never played the game despite being an adult when it came out and if cheap and competent enough, along with cheap enough, might be of some interest to me. Any addition to DSiWare is welcome.
