Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DS is a handheld featuring two screens, one of which is a resistive touchscreen. Four different models are available: the original DS, the DS Lite, the DSi, the DSi XL.
The new DS is coming: What should/will Nintendo include?
Kotaku just did a nice piece on what they want to see from Nintendo's next handheld gaming machine, and for the most part I couldn't agree with them more. widescreen? check. dual analog? check. Gamecube level graphics? check. Removal of friend codes in favor of gamertag like names? triple check. However, there are a few things I would add. For example, does the device really need two seperate screens? Some phones have single screens that can be flipped vertically, and I would rather see something like that (which would also make the device more portable, not to mention get rid of the annoying screen divide). Also, multitouch seems like an obvious but important evolution for the device.
And as just a personal little thing of mine, I'd love it if any new handheld could play Gamecube discs. I know it's 90percent not going to happen, but I could die in peace if such a device were ever released.
" Be able to download old NES, SNES, N64, and maybe Gamecube games and play them on it. "The first 3: yes. The last one: probably impossible.
" Be able to download old NES, SNES, N64, and maybe Gamecube games and play them on it. "That would be pretty nice, especially if you can play the VC games you've already bought on your Wii. Super Metroid on the go =joy.

" Personally I'd rather play my GC games on my TV. I have no need for another DS, they've beat that goddman horse to death. But if I was forced at gunpoint to buy another one, I'd only want a better downloadable service. "Did you really buy each of those four DS1 models? I guess if I had done so I would feel the same way.

" A proper, fully functioning friend system, like you said, and achievements. "Oooooohhh, Achievements.

" Whatever Nintendo is doing, it will, and ALWAYS has been, completely different than what people expect. "Oh yeah, they wouldn't have told us about the Motion control if they didn't have something even better to tell us about when they actually show the device off. I just hope it is a step forward
"Whatever Nintendo is doing, it will, and ALWAYS has been, completely different than what people expect. "
And completely different from what we want.
" @Willy105 said:You could make that arguement for the Wii, but the DS had pretty much everything I did want out of a Nintendo handheld, with a bunch of things I didn't even realize I wanted."Whatever Nintendo is doing, it will, and ALWAYS has been, completely different than what people expect.
