    Nintendo Land

Game » consists of 5 releases. Released Nov 18, 2012

A collection of twelve not-so-mini-games for up to five players and built specifically around the asymmetric gameplay opportunities enabled by the Wii U GamePad, featuring theme park attractions recalling classic Nintendo franchises.

Worth buying if I'm going to play with one other person?

My girlfriend really wants this game but it would just be the two of us that would play it, some of the games look really fun but do you guys think it would be worth it just for the two of us?

I haven't got it, but it looks like most of the games can be played with 2 players with the rest of the optional space given to CPU Players. Having said that it won't be as fun without other people. I say don't get that but instead get New Super Mario Bros U, that is probably a better gam for 2 players.

@Hizang: I got Mario with the intent of playing 2 player but was very annoyed when I realised all players have to use wii remotes, and I am not buying another wii remote.

Yeah, I thought this was the case as well. Anyway, you should get Nintendo Land (but, really, check if you don't have it already).

How do you not have a second WiiMote? In any case I would still recommend getting a second WiiMote over buying NintendoLand if its just going to be you and your girlfriend, Nintendo Land is current way to expensive for what it is.

@Winternet: It defiantly doesn't, I thought it would but then I checked and Zombiu replaces Nintendo land.

How much does Nintendo Land costs? It isn't 50 dollars is it? Anyway, Nintendo Land is the best thing on the Wii U right now. Or at least, the one game that gathers more consensus around it. It's a mini-game collection tech demo, sure, but like Wii Sports, it's kinda the one game that explains the reason why you bought that console in the first place.

Wii Sports is far better than Nintendo Land, Wii Sports is a game I come back to from time to time when I want to play game with my family. Nintendo Land looks like a game I would play once or twice then after I realise its too complicated for my family and friends never play it again.

Ok so if you never owned a Wii, there are FAR better multiplayer games you and your girlfriend could be playing together.

@Hizang: Any suggestions?. Unrelated but I found silent hill shattered memories new for £12, I always wanted to play it and I'm really enjoying it so far.

@Winternet: Unfortunately in the UK we pay quite a bit more for games, the price of Nintendo land here would be the the equivalent of around 72 US dollars.

@pompouspizza: Yeah, but it's still 50, right? Every game in the UK is more expensive than in the US anyway.

@Hizang: I wasn't comparing the two, I just said they both represented the same function.

But they don't, only Wii Sports is able to capture the whole family.

Capturing the whole family is not the function of those games. Explaining the quirks and the ideas behind the console is.

So, I just went and bought a Wii U with a copy of Nintendo Land...

    No Caption Provided

So I played some of it by myself, with my dad and with my dad and my sister. I had the most fun playing with three people, we played primarily Mario Chase and Luigi's Mansion. It was just way more frantic with three people, when it was two of us it was still fun. I take back my previous comment, Nintendo Land is a game every Wii U Owner should have.
