Noctis Lucis Caelum

Noctis is the protagonist of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. It was revealed that  the name Noctis means "Light of the night sky" in Latin. In battle Noctis can wield a variety of weapons. Trailers have shown him using guns, swords, spears and other weapons by making them float near him with telekineses, which he does through the crystal he has in his possession. It has also been shown that Noctis can use his crystal to teleport. His eye and hair color have been shown to change in battle. It has been confirmed by Tetsuya Nomura that this is in some way significant.  Noctis is last heir to the throne of Caelum. They are one of the last kingdoms to be in possession of and control crystals. Throughout the game is is said that he must protect his kingdom from people who wish it harm, which he does with the help of his "Family". Noctis' family has been compared to the Yakuza (The Japanese mafia).
