Destroyed by The Great Chasm at the beginning of Bravely Default, it is up to the player to rebuild the city in real time. As the village is restored each shop will send a variety of items to the Tiz's party and allow them to purchase more powerful weapons, armor, and items. Construction is controlled via timers that tick down in real time. At the beginning of the process, the timers are relatively short but as buildings are completed and level up the timers take longer and longer. By using the 3DS' StreetPass feature players collect townsfolk that they then must allot to each building in order to lessen the amount of time it takes for construction to complete. Each townsfolk allotted reduces a timer by half.
