Ori and the Blind Forest has a few hiccups here and there but these are minor in comparison to everything good about it. 0

This is a very fun game and it is absolutely stunning to look at. I loved the music and the story is well done and touching at parts. The style of the game is that of metroidvanias (exploration and item/power-up collection).I bought the game on steam and played it entirely on a game-pad. The platforming feels completely solid and the rest of the game controls mostly okay. I did however have some small issues with the controls in certain parts of the game. Multiple special abilities end up gettin...

There will not be 10 games better than Ori this year 0

Quality indie games have been pervasively released within the past few years. Since the arrival of the eighth generation of consoles, one may be right to state that indie games have generally overshadowed AAA titles. Moon Studios' inaugural product is perhaps the most effective argument to that statement. Ori and the Blind Forest is not only one of the most polished titles released in 2015 thus far, but a unique and unforgettable trek through the best a side-scroller has to offer.Ori and the Bli...

I was looking forward for this game for a long time, and when I picked it up, it exceeded my expectations in many fields, and disappointed in others.Good: A great story, with lovable and memorable characters, and really fun platforming mechanics! You can level up your characters for cooler abilities, like upgrading your double jump to a triple jump, or finding secret areas easier. I also love the metroidvania style!Bad: Game still suffers from some game breaking glitches, such as being stuck in ...

Mini Review: Ori and the blind forest 0

Ori manages to mix difficult platforming with a some metroidvania aspects to make a unique looking game. First up this game does look gorgeous with a nicely animated hand drawn style. The story to go along with the art style is rather simple but it at least tells a interesting tale. Unlike the cute exterior might imply the platforming challenges in this game will get pretty rough. Like all good platformers it feels great to control and it'll never feel like the game wasn't keeping up with your b...

This game will make you cry 0

Directly from the beginning of the game, you are being set up to be sad. The developers tug at all the various strings attached to all your various organs that make you feel feelings. And that's just the first 10 minutes. Even the enemies in the game have a well thought out story. As soon as you take over control of Ori the platforming begins. Exploring the "open World" of this Metroid-Vania shows you that you will have to backtrack in order to collect items. As Ori moves along in the world, the...

    I swear I didn't cry. 0

This game.. this is easily one of the best games I've played in recent months. Some expositionThis is a Metroidvania game, meaning all areas are relatively accessible however specific items or abilities gate any real progress in those areas until those items/abilities are acquired. At this point. You'll know if that is a type of game that interests you or not. However, I must say up front even if you hate Metroidvania games. You'll miss out on something real special here. What I lovedWhere to star...
