Sprays are a minor but interesting thing in this game. Traditionally they represented the ability of the player to literally leave their mark in a game environment. But since you can't use your own image file (probably for the best) I am wondering what their intended purpose in the game is beyond filling out the loot system.

My experience so far: People spam them at the beginning of the match, sometimes to humorous effect, and then they might show up again in killcams or the play of the game.

Do you use sprays in Overwatch? What do you think Blizzard should do with sprays?

Put them on the payload!

The roadhog spray with the naked pig wearing the roadhog mask while prancing is perfect for leaving places. I put it somewhere where people come around a corner and see it.

I don't think I've even seen that! It sounds amazing. I actually am a little afraid of what I'll return if I google it.

I spray over other peoples sprays when the match is starting. I never think about them otherwise.

I like to mark the payload when defending to let the enemy team know it belongs to me.

If you can't have people using gross porn gifs for their sprays then what is even the point?

I spray them on the body after killing somebody whose been pissing me off all game.

I use them at the beginning of the match when dicking around in the starting zone and then I forget they exist.

10/10 BM. I am in no way above doing this... once, I got so salty that I sprayed the Well Played emote on the wall, sat by it as Bastion, and just glanced at it every time I got a kill so that it would show up in killcams. It was late and I was needing a win.

I am still haunted by the things I encountered in my TF2 days. I actually think that was the optimal place for dank memes and other silliness to live, but MAN, what a gamble.

But really, it is nice they added them just for a touch more customization.

I only use sprays to spray over other people's sprays. That being said, need the ability to import my own terrible stuff like in CS. History has show we can trust the community to moderate themselves.

I wish you could spray more than once

Yeah. Not every match, but sometimes I try to stick 'em where I know the enemy team will be going and/or stick it on the payload.

I try to remember to put it up if I know I'm the one who killed an opponent so they see it on the kill cam.

The pixel art sprays are awesome. A spray war is a nice little time killer waiting for the doors to open.

Yeah, I like sprays at the start of the match and also leaving one where people can see it when our spawn changes. It's just a fun little side thing, I don't give it much thought.

I only use sprays as something to do during the sometimes absurdly long pre-match setup period.

Pre-match I do all over other peoples sprays, and then if I'm defending I might toss one by the defense point/payload. If I'm attacking I do the same. Gotta mark your territory!
