That's great and all, but where's your motherboard? That link just goes to a processor.

Also, I would go with NVIDIA for the graphics card. It seems like every time I hear complaints about how games don't work, the person is using AMD.

EDIT: And you don't really need 16GB of memory. In fact, 8GB should do you just fine.

The only thing I'll say, having read countless PC building threads, is why not go to Newegg? They apparently have a good reputation and good prices.

Looks like you're overspending on RAM and processor and under spending on graphics. Motherboards tend to help too.

The only thing i would really change is get rid of the green hd for a black. Your putting power in this machine that will be held back by a slow ass harddrive. And i mean really slow, the only thing the green hdd are good for is mass storage.

You wont need 750watts to power this, so if you want to save a little do it there. Same with ram, 16gb's is a bit of overkill unless doing high end photo/video stuff

Last few things are personal preference. If your putting this in a bedroom/living room, just remember the noise and light that your computer will give off. The more fans and lights, the worst the external environment will become. So i know its "cool" to have a case light up, but in the long run, having your room lit up like the fourth of july and the noise gets tiring. A nice case like the Antec Sonata is quiet:

Lastly i dont know what motherboard you picked(your link is only to the cpu) but for a general user who will not overclock their cpu, there is no reason to buy a motherboard that cost more than 100$. 50$-80$ motherboards will be perfectly fine.

If you want to go with AMD for your processor and video card, that's fine. All I will say is that I've always stuck to Intel and Nvidia and I almost never have problems running any games. Can't remember the last time I did.

I also second everyone else's suggestion that 16GB of RAM is really not necessary. I'm only using 6GB and I have never had a problem. 8GB should be plenty.

I would recommend you save up an extra 400 bucks and get better GPUs, CPUs. Sure you can get an OK PC right away but I would prefer to get a future proof gaming PC that I would be happy with for years to come. The only reason you need lots of ram is if you plan on doing video editing or having a shit ton of applications open, like im talking 30. I would go with 8 GB. I highly recommend this mobo. These are the best GPUs and CPUs that give the best bang for your buck.

So far so good. Just like what just said. Try looking into Nvidia if you can. I was unlucky with ATI (now AMD) in the past, but there are some people that love them. Also, 16GB of memory is good if you do have the money, but if you're looking for something cheaper then go for less. Maybe put the money into a SSD (solid state drive) so that way your OS can boot faster.

Here's what i think you should do with your money:

Grand Total: $1,090 (1,110 with wireless card)

Why should you spend your money on this instead of your build? The case is simple, yet comes with 2 front and 1 rear fan. I recommend it because i own it. The Mobo comes with them new fancy Pci 3.0 slots, So you can, in the future, use Pci 3.0 graphics cards to their fullest. That and Asus' simple bios is pretty darn, well, simple. The i5-2500k is heralded as the best bang for your buck Cpu and is recommended by Tested.com, as well as Tom's Hardware. The Gpu is based solely on Tom's Hardware's best gpu for price listing. You could go two Radeon HD 6870, but dual gpu's are more of a hassle imo for the layman computer duder. You get the sickest, "blu"est ram that is pretty freaking tall and will mostly likely never use it to 100%. The Hdd is "teh" best for putting your OS and games on. Finally, that PS will not PS you off. I don't think you need an aftermarket cooler, but there's room in the budget for one. Finally, if you can find it cheaper, buy it. Go to your local computer hardware store and see if they'll beat the prices you found for the parts you want.

@senortiz: This pretty much exactly what I would build, EXCEPT I would prolly go for the radeon 6870. But I am biased.
