    http://www.rumorpedia.net/amd-bulldozer-benchmarks-leaked/

Shown is a 3.5Ghz Bulldozer 4C getting the same performance as a 4.0Ghz Sandy Bridge 4C/8T in Vantage. Seems to be faster both clock-for-clock and thread-for-thread than Sandy Bridge, which is already a top-end performer. Not to mention, Turbo Boost to 4.2Ghz seems standard.

As always, take leaks with a grain of salt. If real though, this will be a true generational leap in processor performance.

@SlashseveN303:  As much as I would love to see that from an AMD CPU, we are most likely talking about a cherry picked sample, a flagship $300+ unit and most importantly, as you pointed out and as was stated in the OP, it is a rumor, most likely 'leaked' by AMDs press office to start generating interest ahead of the launch. Let's wait until some open independant tests come out before we start getting too excited.

AMD's big comeback, just like the good ole days when I wanted a Alienware to play Doom 3.

it would be very cool to see amd on the throne again.
     but also very surprising.
i almost wouldn't believe those figures even if they were true.

@TheKeyboardDemon: They were slated for April last I heard, but now it seems more like June-September.

@Cirdain:@Azteck: Licks finger and sticks it in the air. I'm guessing the CPUs will probably start at around $200 and mobos for something basic around $80 and performance mobos about starting around $150 for the first few months and then prices will drop a little as newer models/steppings are released. I'm sure I read something, possibly on TomsHardware that they would be no more than $250.

I think these are the pricing levels that the market seems to bear at the moment, not too far off the X6 1090T levels for an X4 bulldozer etc...

@Geno: lol. I read the post wrong, was scanning through and thought that VACKillers typed "and what IS the 8 core cpu?". I should really read posts fully before I answer, but where's the fun in that eh?? (Next I'll be reading my own posts before I send them!)

@salad10203: Some of us see it as progress and for others it's the same reason people like car enthusiasts get pumped about cars like the Buggati Veyron, they might never own the car, or drive it, yet alone find a road where they will ever be able to experience 249mph but they still get all hyped about it.
