  • This is actually a really interesting question. It took me a while to decide. I think soft and chewy because it has more of that "freshly baked" feeling, and you don't have to worry about crumbs.

  • Geno replied to the topic PC Framerate? in the Dragon Age: Origins board.
I'm sure he doesn't mean 60 fps as a "terrible" framerate  (besides, turning off VS enables screen tearing which looks much worse than 60 fps).   If your framerate seems abnormally low it's usually a driver issue. Update to the latest correct driver from your card manufacturer (Nvidia or ATI).

  • Geno replied to the topic Trouble for playing COD MW2 early? in the Modern Warfare 2 board.
There's no problem unless it's a pirated copy or it's played on a modded console.

  • You can never have too much loot. I used a trainer on Titan Quest after I finished it so that every chest would drop like 140 rare items. Still wasn't enough for me.

  • Geno replied to the topic Are there cheats for Runescape?
It's an MMO, so no. There are hacks and bots, but most of them probably have malware and I'm pretty sure all of them are detectable.

  • Geno replied to the topic MW2 or Uncharted 2?
Uncharted 2 = Possibly greatest game this generation, or at least in the top 5.  MW2 = MW1 with new campaign.   Think about it.

They're pretty good. Definitely an improvement over their old ones.

  • 1/10. There looks to be even less of a difference between MW2 and MW1 than there is between L4D2 and L4D1.

  •   Um, doesn't this boost Steam's sales even further?   Scenario 1: A user can order from both D2D or Steam, their preference Scenario 2: A user is forced to use Steam because D2D refuses to offer the game, thus making the user VOLUNTARILY purchase from Steam, which will probably cause them to shift if they were originally a D2D user Kind of shooting itself in the foot if you ask me.

I remember the first time I played GoldenEye I was so into it I seriously considered stealing it from my friend (I was like 8 at the time) until I decided not to at the last minute. Phew.

Buying the top of the line, flagship model is in NO WAY the best value. You pay a large price premium for getting that technology first (which will not be used in any major way for another several years).  The best ...

  • Geno replied to the topic Building a Gaming PC for the first time! in the PC board.
@KaosAngel said: " On a serious note, why not get a cheap card now and wait for the epic Nvidia card coming out early 2010? "This is also what I've been telling others who are building a new PC at the moment. Either go with ATI now and crossfire for the next gen, or wait 6 months for nvidia's offering which is likely going to be significantly better. Most people ...

At this point in time, you shouldn't be getting an Nvidia Card. Ati's 5870 is the best bang for buck at the moment, and will be able to play all games at highest res with highest settings and maxed AA and AF. It also of course has DirectX11, which will provide tesselation in future games. From there you can then simply buy more 5870's for crossfire in the future when ...

Hey guys, here's just a short write-up to introduce a new blog I'll be doing called "Game Idea". When I think I have a good idea for a game, I'll write a blog about it. However, it won't be just be a couple sentences like "hey what about a racing game but like in outer space kthxbye". It will usually be a fairly fleshed out idea, something that could be presented in a pitch meeting for example. I'm going to try and mostly propose things that haven't been done before, or are exciting.

Thanks for reading, I'll try to post the first Game Idea blog within the week.

In Soviet Russia... (PC)
You control Atomic Tank and charge into the depths of the Middle East and eastern Europe to win the nuclear war. Looking purely at the gameplay, you'd never guess that PopCap, developers of casual games like Bejeweled and Bookworm made this arcade style shooter. It's fast, it's violent, it's funny ...

The closest connection to Final Fantasy is the title (PS2)
The latest entry into the numerical FF series is, in short, a disappointment. There are various things wrong with it, and in terms of style, it doesn't resemble the previous FF games at all. On the positive side, the game is somewhat playable and pretty fun at times, has relatively ...

Pretty good for something that has Disney injected into it (PS2)
Kingdom Hearts 2 as with all Square RPG's, was well made, fun, and enjoyable. The main thing stopping it from getting 5 stars were a few key components that simply detracted tremendously for the game experience.Anybody who's played the game will tell you that the beginning is perhaps one of ...

Revolutionary for its time, and one of the best WWII games ever (PC)
The first of the groundbreaking Call of Duty series, COD puts you into the shoes of American, British and Russian soldiers in one of the many theaters during the war. The graphics were the best of its time, and still look decent when played today. Textures are clean, soldier's faces ...

A good gateway MMO, and generally enjoyable (PC)
Runescape is a much-played but not so well-known online  MMORPG that launched in 2001. Since that time, it has gone through major graphical and gameplay changes, and its current form is almost unrecognizable compared to what it was a few years ago. The gameplay is skill-based, and there are a plethora of skills. ...
