I think Nintendo should give it to PlatinumGames, if Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 fulfil their potential, what do you think?

If they are a good developer with a passion for the franchise, plus some input from Nintendo, I say go for it. I can't see the downside.

That could actually work since Platinum sure as hell has their action genes in check. Could be cool if they got the chance.

He said this in 2010:

“I want Nintendo’s staff to come to Platinum, stick guns at us and tell us ‘You guys make a new Star Fox game.’”

He then went on to praise Star Fox 64 for its "scenario and heated battles".

I don't know if this is true, but I've read he stopped making his own similar game because of it. I wonder if he will use that as a prototype to show Nintendo?...

I would love for this to happen. I really want a true PROPER Star Fox sequel. No Adventures or whatever, just crazy space battles.

And if you sprinkle some of that Platinum magic on it, then I'm set. Would be nice if this was a perk Platinum got for their investment in the Wii U with The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2. Would really show that Nintendo are being serious about working with third party developers to make some choice titles for the platform.

If Platinum continues this partnership with Nintendo is seems a no brainer. Not like anyone else is going to make one.

I'd be down for that. Platinum's a great studio andStar Fox is badly in need of some love so, yeah, that could be pretty great.

Is anyone else a little surprised Nintendo has continued handing out major franchises to third party studios after Other M? I'm glad it didn't scare them off but I hope it works out better in the future.

That said, I still think a non-Nintendo developed Smash Bros. is just wrong.

A Platinum Star Fox would be a pretty rad game. Also, Nintendo has a pretty good record with having third parties develop their franchises with the big standout against that being Other M.

I really wish they could get Sega to make another F-Zero. Though considering what Sega has become that might be a wish best left unfulfilled.
