Why does my TV switch to 720p when playing Dead Space?

It works fine in 1080p when playing MGS 4 and the back of the Dead Space case says it supports 1080p but whenever I play it my tv switches to 720p any idea why?

It probably doesn't actually support 1080p like the box says, even with scaling.  Don't trust the box.

The back of my Deadspace box says 720p. Then again so does my MGS.

Back of the box says that for it to run in 1080p your input needs to have HDCP input, that would be high bandwidth digital content protection. But as another dude said don't trust the back of the box.

    Dead Space isn't a 1080p title.

No need to take pictures, I believe you enough, but I'm from the Uk so maybe it's different in Pal.

They also write 1080p on most Xbox 360 games, that doesn't mean that they natively run 1080p, most of the time probably around 98% of the time they are just upscaled, which makes no difference at all.

My tv has HDCP and it says the same thing on the MGS 4 box just in a different place.

A lot of my games go to 720p. Box usually says which it plays in.

Like mentioned before don't trust the box. If you really want to make sure it can run in 1080p, go uncheck the 720p box in the display settings. If the game handles 1080p upscaling it wont revert to 720p. But if it doesn't it will revert to 480p.

A game like Bioshock can upscale to 1080p, but a game like Uncharted 2 can't upscale to 1080p.
