I bought one of the Destiny white DS4's and I'm planning on doing the Xbox One stick swap mod. While I had it opened I wanted to swap out the battery with something higher capacity, (1800mah or 2000mah, stock is 1000mah).

However, I've heard of a lot of people getting bum or knock off batteries from Ebay and whatnot. I was wondering if anyone has swapped their battery with success, and if so where did you get your battery from?

I'm gonna bump for visibility, I wouldn't mind knowing this myself. Anybody?

I used one from this buyer on eBay and it seems to be working good. Not a difficult process at all, either.

If they released a new controller with nothing but a better battery, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Im kind of interested in this now. Where are people getting higher capacity batteries that fit perfectly in the dualshock 4? Is there a device that uses the same form factor, or are people actually making them?

Just turn the lights down or off. The DS4 will last much longer.

@marcsman: How do you configure the light bar to be completely off? Or do you mean just opening it up and disconnecting it? I don't mind the battery life too much since they went with a micro USB port this time and I have far more micro cables and chargers than I know what to do with! The PS3's were annoying because they wouldn't charge from standard chargers, and if you hooked it up to a computer it would lose the pairing with the console.

@drzing: You can't disable it completely, but if you go to the settings menu of the PS4 under controllers or bluetooth devices you can set it's brightness to 3 different levels.
