I went to gamestop to but Kingdoms of Amalur and noticed they had the demo station set up. I played around with it for like 15 minutes and fell in love. The main thing I noticed is that it's actually comfortable to hold, unlike the PSP. The games look amazing and control great. The only thing is I'm definitely waiting till after E3 to get one. Anyone wanna take bets of a price cut? I'd say there is a 60% chance of them knocking $50 off of it. The game I'm most excited for is Shinobu 2, because I imported way of the ninja 1 from japan and fucking loved it. The fact that it sort of will generate infinite generic stealth missions, is really appealing.

PlayStation Vita is Sony's second handheld gaming device.
I'm totally sold on the Vita.
Were you worried that your other post sounded sarcastic?@SuperCabboy: I mean about getting one
what about a 3DS it's new and cheaper.i want one bad, but mostly for its newness factor, not for the actual games. i admit im quite bored and just new games arent doing it, i need a "new toy" i guess
It's actually the opposite for me. I was kind of leaning towards buying one, but after messing with it at a random gamestop I happened to be in I've decided to wait until it drops in price at the very least. Or until they announce, something like say, Patapon 4.
I would not be surprised if they ported RE Revelations to the Vita at some point and it was way better.I want one pretty badly, but I also want a 3DS.
I don't bloody know which one to get! Though I'm starting to lean back towards the Vita with RE Revelations' good-not-great reception and Super Mario Land 3DS alone isn't enough to sell it to me, despite its much cheaper price.

If I thought I had the time or the money, or less gadgets in general... I would have it day one. But, really, good for you, OP! Seriously, honestly, I'm glad we can start having an adult conversation about wanting something that has been bashed to all hell by analysts but cheered on by the gaming press.
I've been back and forth on this, but after some of the more recent murmurings about their line up, it is back at the top of my lists of wants. Final Fantasy X on the Vita? Awesome. I don't want the PS3 version; I want this game in a portable format.
While the system seems kinda bulky (which is a shame), I'd love to have it next to my PSPgo on my charging dock. Of course, if the system was white, it would match my "all portable devices are white, all home electronics are black" odd, unintentional scheme.
The device seems neat, but if the sales won't pick up after it's launch in USA/Europe, it's not gonna last long...
I'm staying away from it from this very reason, I just know I'll want one if I see it in the wild and demo it.

Neither would I. Vita it may be, then! Still, no Super Mario 3D Land makes me sad.
I like it, you can spread your fingers out on it. The analog sticks are placed just right too.I saw it too, it just seemed too big to me. I was shocked and I knew it was a little bigger than the PSP but damn, thing is massive. Thin but wide. It didn't give me the same awe that I had when I saw the PSP. But I do like the analog sticks.
I just pre-ordered with Amazon. Got the 32GB card, too. Shouldn't be spending all this money.Oh just hope the world really does end at the end of the year. The world might be over but you had fun while it lasted. Sadly no more Vita games would come out.
I would totally expect a game and 4GB or 8GB Memory Card bundled with the system for the Fall/Holiday time frame for the WiFi model. If any unit was to come down in price it would be the 3G unit.
I hope they do have a unit that is $199 for the Fall, but I would actually prefer they make money on the console so that they can keep making great games.

I totally want to get this as well but I think I'll get a PSP GO first. Love its design but never brought it since I had a 3000. Now I don't have it anymore and I need a reason to put CFW on it for old school emulators of the Snes and such.
I'll get this in the summer most likely.

I'm still not sold on it. It just seems like it's going to give you the exact same games the PS3 will. Which makes me question why you would even buy one if you already have a PS3.
Sort of agree with this, the current lineup is huge, but theres nothing really jumping at me. I was was one of those people who bought the 3DS on release, in hindsight rob ably was a bad idea. Not gonna do the same with the Vita.
I have a PSP and about 40 games of backlog I have yet to play. I assume you can play PSP games on the Vita? Perhaps not "officially" hehe. Otherwise I'll wait 5 years and get it really cheap like I did with the PSP.
I really want to try one out but I live in an insignificant territory so I've just been masturbating to impressions from Americans and people in Japan and descriptions of the screen. What games did you get to play? It seems like Gravity Rush's demo is the biggest hit based on impressions.
i held on for the first time last weekend and was struck at just how big it was. to me just a bit too big. the screen is lovely though and gives me a geeky bonner but im happy to wait a year or so and get a new iphone in the meantime

Why do people keep making this assumptions ?, stop the doom-saying... Christ..
Because it's selling like crap in the only place of the world where it had any real power-Japan.
3DS even with all it's bad sales, managed to sell 4 million in it's first month and about 100k for a while after, and was still considered to have poor sales.
Sure, that was worldwide, but if Sony doesn't spend some fucking money on marketing, Vita is gonna sell like ass.
I am pre-ordering the launch bundle through amazon. I missed out on the PSP but I already have Valkyria Chronicles II and Persona 3 Portable on my PS3 waiting to be played. Also looking forward to Lumines: Electronic Symphony, Super Stardust Delta, Gravity Rush, WipEout 2048, Mortal Kombat, Resistance: Burning Skies, Persona 4: The Golden, and hopefully, crossing my fingers for NHL 13.
And you seem obsessed with horrible spelling.@Shun_Akiyama said:

The fact you say it's comfortable to hold is really key. Although somehow I still doubt it will be nearly as comfortable as a dualshock especially if you have large hands.
Considering how poorly its selling in Japan, I'm afraid there will be little 3rd party support for it here in the West. You might as well buy a new phone that does more.
I bought it a few days ago. I'm very interested in Gravity Rush, I played the demo and it was pretty fun.
However, I am optimistic about the Vita, and I can see sales dropping off until the most have games come out. As for third party support I don't think it'll go away as quickly but I don't know if it'll be for the best at first. We will see EA port everything for Vita (if it turns out to really be easy to port down) but I also can see publishers waiting until Xmas for their big releases. What if only 50,000 Vita sell in March. The best a game could do is 50,000. I've mover got the whole releasing a game at launch.
And the last thing for mt overly long post, the attach rate in japan is actually a fraction of a number (like .8) so people are downloading which makes more money for the game companies but isn't tracked for game sales (or people in Japan are using it as a tablet).
