I'd really like to know if the Vita will be able to play the PS2 Classics on the Store. I know it's still missing two shoulder buttons, but it just seems like a no-brainer to me to give it that support. It's a long shot, but has this question already been answered and I just haven't been able to find it?

I'd pick up God Hand and Ring of Red right now if I knew I was gonna be able to put them in my pocket sometime soon...

That would be cool, but you'd bet that if you wanted to play it on both the PS3 and Vita you would have to buy it twice.

Maybe, maybe not. PS1 Classics are a 1 time purchase and usable on both PS3 and PSP with no problem, you can either transfer from your PS3 or DL them from the store in the PSP. I believe Vita can do the same with PS2 titles, if it supports them.
