I have been looking for an excuse to buy a PS vita for awhile now, but the only reason I can think of is Persona 4 Golden. Every time I try to look up games to play, I get results like Hotline Miami which can be played on everything else. I love RPGs, are there any of those out for the vita? I hear there are some good dungeon crawlers for it.

I guess there is also Persona 4: dancing all night...i'll need to watch that quick look.

I have a Vita. Very rarely play on it. There aren't a ton of exclusives. In fact, very few. I mostly used it to play Final Fantasy X which has cross-platform saves. If it's exclusives you're looking for, it will be a bad purchase.

There aren't a lot of total exclusives anymore. Severed is probably the last one the Vita gets that won't be "porny". Most of the systems best games can also be found on PC or PS4 though having a portable version is pretty great.

Thats a real shame. The vita seems really good, it just doesn't have the games :/

Muramasa: Rebirth is probably the best game on the Vita. An updated Wii game, but it's fantastic.

If you're looking at the system purely based on what you can't play anywhere else it's not a system you want.

As a happy vita owner, it's biggest strength is being my personal favorite place to play a lot of games. I wouldn't want to play Hotline Miami any other platform as much as vita, it's just perfect for the system, and that goes for so many old school RPGs, platformers, adventure games, tactics games (just playing X-Com: Enemy Within right now and loving it all over again) and whatever else. It's not very good at big action games and the like but it's such a clear leader for games not overly focusing on immersion or graphical fidelity.

It's also gotten me to play genres/series I haven't been into much in the past. For as easy as it might be to overlook the Wipeout game on Vita, I think it's the best in the series and the only one I've actually liked much at all. I probably put 20 - 25 hours into it, where as I played the PS3 Wipeout for maybe 1 or 2 hours. I think it's a much better game but also just having a genre like that on a portable system SOOOO easy to turn it on from sleep and play a few races and put it right down is perfect.

I played and liked Persona 4 (and for me that's quite a feat) but I would so much more happily play Persona 5 on Vita than a console. It's a smart piece of hardware with a big library of games (despite it's reputation) and delivers the perfect 'pick up and play' experience.

If you have any inclination to play a semi-modern Tenchu-like game, there's no way past Shinobido 2, which is a rare vita exclusive (and one of my favorite vita games).

Muramasa Rebirth - Technically on Wii, but that version is awful. Vita version also has 4 pieces of fantastic DLC. My favorite Vita game, bar none.

Ys: Memories of Celceta - I adore all Ys games, and this one is really good.

Soul Sacrifice: Delta - A Monster Hunter-like, except quite different with its focus on spells rather than weapons, also has a surprisingly good story.

Freedom Wars - Quite fun, if a bit forgettable.

Oreshika - A really unique JRPG, with a neat look and a fun combat system.

Tales of Hearts R - a solid Tales entry.

Hot Shots Golf - legit the best golf game ever.

Demon Gaze - one of my favorite dungeon crawlers.

Danganronpa - Only Ultimate Despair Girls is exclusive anymore, and might come to PC, but its a fun game.

Atelier Totori/Meruru Plus - the best versions of crafting focused JRPG's, that are quite fun!

Killzone Mercenary - The most technical game you will ever see, its visually amazing looks almost like a PS3 game. Decent to play.

I think the Vita has quite a few decent games, I also like the way of playing on it. Especially RPG's I think fit very, very well. Also Shiren The Wanderer is coming out on Vita in July, and I am mad hype for that.

Vita is a great system. Had a lot of good times on it, but yeah, it basically is a P4G machine once a year now.

I'll second Ys: Memories of Celceta, I had a good time with that game. The Tales game seems good if you're into those. There are also a number of older PSP titles that you can get on the Vita as well, such as Breath of Fire 3 which was just recently released. I've also heard good things about the Vita port of Odin Sphere if you don't have a PS3 or PS4.

Honestly exclusives are not what anyone goes to the Vita for. I like it because I prefer to play certain games on a handheld, like Shovel Knight and Bastion. I'll probably get Odin Sphere on it as well, even though I have a PS4.

I'll echo Memories of Celceta, Freedom Wars, Tales of Hearts, and especially Oreshika, which I think is neat little gem. The Vita a great system but probably not something you'd want strictly for exclusives. The appeal is the hardware is such a joy to use you'd rather play multiplat game x on the Vita. There are multiple titles I'm getting this year on Vita over other versions, whether for convience or because it's a lower budget game that I rather play on a handheld. Hopefully Darkest Dungeon runs well on Vita, that's definitely the kind of game that I'd get a lot of use out of cross-save.

There are not a lot of games that are exclusive to the Vita but there are a lot of portable versions of PS4 and PS3 games that come to the Vita. I've been playing a lot of Trails of Cold Steel recently, which also came out on the PS3, and Odin Sphere Leifthrasir was just released, which looks really good. If you like RPGs, or really any odd Japanese stuff, there is a ton to play on the Vita but a lot of it is not exclusive, the only recent example I can think of off the top of my head is Severed.

Severed is really great. Muramasa Rebirth is the way to play that game over the Wii version. I like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, better than Drake's Fortune. Killzone Mercenary is surprisingly good. Still a decent amount of cross platform titles coming from Japan.

It is a really solid piece of hardware but my recommendation for buying a Vita mostly comes down to what kind of commute you have. Because if you spend a decent amount of your week on trains and buses then its great but less so if you think you'll just be playing it at home.

With a Vita and a japanese PSN account you could get an exclusive modern 3rd gen Monster Hunter on a not-godawful handheld...(Monster Hunter Portable 3rd)
