    Overview

Pokémon Card Game: Asobi Kata DS (the sub-title loosely translated to "How to Play") is a virtual collectible card game developed by ZENER WORKS (along with Creatures) and published by The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo DS exclusively in Japan on August 5, 2011 as part of the "Pokémon Card Game BW: Hajimete Set Plus" bundle for the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Along with a digital rulebook of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (in its 2010 "BW" installment), Asobi Kata DS features in-depth tutorials using the Half Decks included in the real-life "Pokémon Card Game BW: Hajimete Set" bundle (each based on the three starting Pokémon from the Black/White games). This game is similar to the overseas PC game Pokémon Play It!, released ten years prior.

The tutorial is presented similar to a visual novel, with the player character (Shun) being introduced to the game by his friend (Nanami). After completing the tutorial, players can play a limited version of the game against five different CPU opponents or, with the platform's Download Play feature, against another player (using the same game card).

The game also received a downloadable demo (known as Pokémon Card Game: Asobi Kata DS Download-han, or "Download Edition") via in-store Nintendo Zone virtual kiosks.
