Ok so Im goin to get the game for Christmas on PS3, and i know that it comes with steam copy of the game. My question is would i be able to play co op with a friend if im playing on my Ps3 and he's on my PC playing on the same account?

I don't think so. I wanted to do the same, my wife on the ps3, and me on PC.

Nope, you need two versions of the game. It is linked to your account as on the PS3 you are also signed onto Steam. Portal 2 is cheap now so just buy a PS3 and PC copy.
