Overview
Pro Cycling Manager Season 2012: Le Tour de France is a simulation game developed by Cyanide Studio and published by Focus Home Interactive for the PC platform. The game is orientated around managing a cycling team, this is generally accomplished through negotiation of contracts, sponsorships, scouting of new riders, training, staffing, budgeting, equipment purchasing and in-race management of riders.
New Features
A new in-built "season planner" has been included within the game, allowing for a greater acuity in managing the schedules of individual cyclists throughout the season, without the need for an external program or spreadsheet. It uses a drag-and-drop interface, allowing users to quickly and easily select riders for a certain event.
"Recoinnoitering" or reconaissance can be done through the "Training" menu for riders to experience several routes from a grand tour before participating. On the subject of grand tour participation, this aspect has been adjusted within the database by Cyanide to be "more realistic".
Cyanide have included a new third tier to the game, mirroring the current setup in UCI sanctioned professional road cycling, with the total tally of teams now reaching 81. This allows further lower level races to be included also.
The new "Armada" online mode allows for a persistant online experience, where players can register for events alongside other players while competing in rankings. A cards system is also implemented, where players can buy equipment cards to enhance their team's performance.
