As you can see from my Username I like the Metal Gear Solid Franchise a lot, and Ocelot is one of my all time favorite villians. I have played hundreds and hundreds of video games since I started playing, (which was at 3 years old and the first game I ever played was Super Mario Bros 3) and over the years I have come into possession of a good number of consoles. First the NES, the console that got me into gaming and I owe a lot to Nintendo in many ways. Next was the N64, another generation of solid gaming (In my opinion) from Nintendo, with games like Star Fox 64, Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie & Tooie, Goldeneye and Zelda. These were the carefree days of gaming for me and my Nintendo consoles and games never let me down. These games defined my childhood, among other things, and my fondest memories of youth lie with Nintendo and even Sega. Then the Gamecube entered my life, with some of my all time favorite game. Tales of Symphonia (probably in my top 10), 007:Everything or Nothing, Zelda: Wind Waker, Soul Calibur II, Mario Sunshine, Zelda: Twilight Princess, F-Zero GX, Second Sight and Timesplitters Future Perfect. For 4 years I piously played Gamecube games and absolutely enjoyed the hell out of everygame i got for it, especially Tales of Symphonia which will forever have a profound effect on my life as a gamer. I finally bought a SNES from a friend of mine in 2006 and got to enjoy all the games i missed in that era. My favorite SNES game would easily be Super Mario World, and i still haven't figured out all 100% of the games secrets. (Donkey Kong Country too!!!)
Despite my love of the Nintendo games I have loved and still love today, I have to say in all honesty that Nintendo let me down with the Wii. My biggest problem is that you have to swin through a sea of crap to find one slightly above average game. It was a gimmick and marketing scheme from it's inception and I honestly think that Nintendo should not be allowed by the industry to make another console. They let this Nintendo fan down and it makes me sad that I can't be a part of the great company that had provided me with years of entertainment and memories. If they continue their path I will consider Nintendo dead.
In 2007 I purchased a PS2 and played (and still playing)a massive amount of amazing games that will take too long to list here (BG&E, Xeno, MGS1,2&3, GTA, TOA). The Playstation 2 quickly became one of my favorite consoles, and I then discovered the PSP in summer of 08 which like the PS2 still hasn't let me down. Both of those systems are of the highest quality and that is something I appreciate as a gamer.
In October of 2007 my bro bought an XBOX 360 which is also fantastic but a year later I purchased a PS3 and played the magnificent Drake's Fortune and one of the greatest games ever created, MGS4. Upon beating MGS4 I realized that the only company to bring me the greatest, most emotional, most fun, highest quality (never had to take a console or game back to any store) and overall enjoyable games was Sony. If that makes me a fanboy i really don't care, the MGS series was the only series to almost make me cry and the RPG collection is unrivaled. I also like the 360 because of Banjo Kazooie and other exclusives but Sony makes me feel proud to be a gamer, a gamer who never has to complain about hardware malfunction or game limitations. I am a gamer who can easily feel happy about the purchases I make and I hope the best for Sony's future. I also hope Nintendo pulls their crap together or they have permanently lost a longtime fan. And Microsoft, you guys are doin' just fine. (SWKOTOR!!!).
