Hmm it is fun to watch brad play dark souls but it seems that most people are more or less over this formula of game. I hope they can find another successful IP but I'm not sure if the world needs more dark souls.
I think it can still be fresh, just needs a different setting/era. Futuristic space robots or something.
That's why I'm pretty excited about Deck 13's new game The Surge (same developers who created Lords of the Fallen). Looks like DS in Spaaaaaace!
Wow, I didn't realize how hated Dead Nation was. Me and my wife enjoyed the shit out of it and we played both the PS3 and 4 versions. It was kind of annoying how dark it was and the game is really short. We were really excited about Alienation until I saw that it had no couch co-op. Atleast Helldivers had that.
Are you guys seriously not mentioning Metroid Prime as a good intro to Nintendo franchises? It's an almost perfect 3D version of Supe Metroid.
Also, I read somewhere (pc gamer, I think) that the crash in DS3 is caused by the long flowy robes and graphical effects from the bonfire. No problems on my end with the 970 and AMD cpu.
I, too, remember really liking this game. I haven't thought about it in years though. I remember hating the mansion with all of the laser tripwire bullshit though. I also liked how the story had two sides; where you got to play as the police officer tracking the main character throughout the game and seeing how he got to the end of the game.
The Getaway, Manhunt, and Black were probably some of my favorite "non-classics" on the PS2.
