  • It's hit and miss. I've had my same console about 3 years now. No problems, and when it does break MS will replace it for free. So I can't justify complaining too much.

In the last few weeks it seems the contributions from the community has decidended into a plummet. I've been watching and in the past 4 days only two people have posted anything.

What's going on? Usually there's dozens of good content waiting to be read.

I blame it on summer.

I signed up for the Goozex service about a month ago. If you are unfamilar with the website, it's basically the greater alternative to trade-in prices. It's a community based website where you trade games to other users and in exchange for the game you get points. Depending on how much points you get per game (or you can build up your points) you can buy games.

It's a pretty good service, I traded in 3  Nintendo DS games and got a little under 1000 points. With those points I then went on to buy Fallout 3 (PC) and Skate 2 (360). That's a damn good trade if you ask me. Over the past few weeks I traded 2 old Xbox360 games, with no interest in any games out I kept the points. But without thinking, I had left a game in my wanted list...

It arrived yesterday. So for the past 2 days I've been playing Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I've surprisingly had a blast with the game. But I cannot for the life of me recommend it as a purchase. Although, I'd highly recommend it as a rental to any fans out there. You won't enjoy it if you're not a fan, but for us tight knit fans it's a real blast. For the whole 5 hours it lasted, yeah, that included all the achievements.

I think i'll put it back up for trade as it's still going for the same price as I purchased it for. So basically i've been playing that for free all weekend. Not bad.

I also started Fallout 3 last weekend. I decided to get it for PC as they were apparently the game quality and I needed a excuse to play more Games for Windows games. I like the service overall, I like being able to use my gamercard to chat to friends on the 360 while i'm busy playing my own games on the PC. They need to expand this service, as it has a aweful lot of potential. As for the game itself, it's damn good. The beginning segments were one of the better starts to a game i've seen in a long time. I've never played a Fallout game before, but this one has me submerged in the world and enjoying it a lot. It's a ton of fun to play and explore, the game really lives up to the claims. It's all about the decisions to make.

I'm not very far into the game at the moment, so advise and helpful tips would be greatly appriciated.

-Andy

Seeing as it's hitting cinema's tomorrow, how many of your are planning on going and witnessing the magic?

I was originally planning on going tomorrow for the grand opening here in Britain. But I couldn't make it due to being overly busy. So I'm planning to go thursday with my girlfriend - who is also a huge Harry Potter fan.

As lame as it sounds, I cannot wait to see it. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, followed the books from the very beginning. Read through the entire collection at least half a dozen times. It's the only book I can pick up and happily read and enter a world of my own. JK. Rowling really hit gold when she wrote that. I'll admit the last book had me in tears, well, glass eyed. I'm sad, but I love it.

(I didn't shed a tear over anything soppy, I just didn't want Dobby to die. He was badass.)

Here's a interesting quick fact - Did you know, JK Rowling came up with the idea of Harry Potter as she was taking a train ride to London. She was bored and began doodling on a piece of paper.

I'm reading through the sixth book again now - should have it finished by thursday.

So who's going to see it tomorrow? Or whenever? Don't forget the popcorn.

Ok guys, I'll come out right off the bat and admit i've pretty much deserted you guys for the past month or two. I won't blame it on being busy - even though I was very busy. I just didn't have the desire to do this. But, the stars must have shifted and my horoscope now tell's me to be productive. So I will, somewhat.

This will probably be a pretty big update, so if you don't like text or rambling. Please hit that red 'x' button on the top of your browser. Done? Ok Let's proceed.

Over the past two months I've been very busy - and it definately has taken it's toll. I feel physically and mentally drained. I've not relaxed properly since about this time last year. It's been exam year. Andy doesn't do well with these sorts of things. But now it's over, so let my 3 month summer vacation comense.

I've picked up quite a lot of games over the past few months, not sure if I have brought this to your attention, but these are the ones that spring to mind:

Guild Wars: Complete Collection
Burnout Paradise
Final Fantasy VII
Sims 3
Skate 2

I think my summer gaming log is pretty much set. Infact I've set myself some goals. Actually, that's a lie. I've set myself ONE goal. Which is to document all the games I complete from now till I go back to school in september. I plan on doing this because i've got a damn habbit of going half way through games then leaving them. Resulting in a mammoth backlog. One game that springs to mind here is Final Fantasy X - which I'm right at the end of as we speak.

So now with a lot of hours to waste and the summer at my disposal I should be around here a lot more, one way or another. I've always been pretty busy flurishing my creative side. I've been wanting to get some writing done. I've also been putting some of my webdesign and graphical design to some usage - which I learnt in my ICT course, which I just passed (hopefully with flying colours?).

Maybe something will come out of it, who knows?

I know one thing though, at the moment I feel annoyed.

Why?

This came today, but I can't crack it open until my high school GCSE exams are over. But one thing is for certain, within 60 seconds of that final exam being over I will be typing in this activation key for great justice!

One more thing, tomorrow is my final day of High School. This is where the title of this blog derives from. I'm kind of excited for tomorrow, but at the same time I am very saddened by it all. This is the end of the line for me and quite a lot of my friends, as we are all parting our separate ways. Should be good all the same, we will see.

Later.
