I generally don't like dual-joystick shooters, but I love Geometry Wars.
Go figure.
I will readily admit that Fallout 3 is a better game (as far as mechanics, design, and production values) than The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, but I would much rather spend 80 hours in Oblivion's world than Fallout's. Not to mention that Fallout's guns-only combat system became a chore after a few hours without any spells/magic to keep things varied.
Meh...more out of obligation than anything else.
Landing a solid haymaker with the analog punch controls is probably one of the most satisfying feelings I've ever felt in a videogame, especially when it's accompanied by that slow motion camera and the sound of your opponent's cracking bones. Early in the career mode, I probably would have put this game in my top five. It was shaping up to be one of my favorite sports games of all time...that's how fun punching stuff is in this game. That was until I reached the back end of the career mode. That part just frustrated the heck out of me. It wasn't hard, it was just that the computer started to dodge and block ALL THE TIME when all I wanted them to do was LET ME PUNCH THEM IN THE FACE! It got so annoying.
