Why aren't videos working ?

So for the past few days I haven't been able to get any of the video on the Giant Bomb site to wok. Comic Vine does, but here nada. The progress/steaming doesn 't have a bold and neither does the slow/medium/fast. I am missing my ER :( Anyone have ideas.

Stuff and more

So Epic beard time for Dom in Gears 3. Awesome. Because as we all know the power of beard will make this the greatest game in the trilogy. But I digress...

So I found "Saints Row 2" the other day for 20 bones and decided to give it a shot. so far I haven't gotten to far into it but it does have some high points. The first is that driving the cars is pretty damn fun. I didn't enjoy that in the last "Grand Theft Auto" the made the cars so unresponsive. It is great to drive at speeds dangerous and crazy and still have control. Also the gun play seems better.

Seems like I have been finding some pretty decent deals on games lately. Picked up "Assassins Creed 2", "Gears of War 2", "Valkrie Chronicles", "Brutal Legend", "The Sabator" and the formentioned "Saints Row 2" for 30 or less. Though to be honest I am currently played through "Deadly Premonition"... again. I had hurried through the game so that if the guys here at Giant Bom decided to do the ER (which praise the monkey gods they did) I wouldn't be lost. Thing is that it was a fun game. Sure there are a multitude of things that are not good. In fact to list them all would be redundant and a little wasteful. If you want that check out some of the lower scored reviews out there. But it has this thing that you just don't see all that often in the industry full of sequels, remakes and copycats. "Deadly Premonition" has a identity of its own.

Hmmm, guess thats all thats going on right now. Stoked for "Alan Wake" in the near future.

When combat isn't fun (Silent Hill Homecoming)

So the other day I decided to give "Silent Hill Homecoming" yet another try. Thing is that all of the other games in the series are in the bag and this is the one and only not. So here I go again (on my own) playing the game and deciding that it wasn't as bad as I remember it being. I had been getting the feel of the combat and all and all was enjoying the story. Then I got to the Sewers. Long story short (to late)  I had run through all of my ammo and healing items. It seemed like the enemies just keep coming and that the combat system Double Helix had created for the game just didn't work and when there were multiple enemies on screen... forget about it. I took the disc out and there is a good chance that I will never finish it. I want to... I just guess that I am not good enough to do it.

This made me start thinking about the many games that I have just deemed to damn hard to finish and it makes me sad. Should I sit there in front of the tv until I am good or should games come with a easy setting. Something that even a regular player (such as myself) or someone with little time to learn the finer ins and out of the game. Hmmm...

PS. I think that "Shattered Memories" got it right, at least for the Silent Hill world. Story and scares over combat is a win every time in a horror title.
