There's only two games that I regret buying, Section Z and Castlevania: Lament of Innocence.
They weren't bad games, and I would know, I buy and play bad games. I bought Matt Hazard on the Xbox360 and they put Earth Defense Force 2025 in the case by accident. I didn't return it, I like EDF, but I went to another store and got Matt Hazard knowing full well what that game is. I pay and play bad games.
Section Z isn't bad, it's mediocre, and when it came out on the NES it was somehow a budget release where I lived. So it was cheap. Almost 30 years later I'm still annoyed about buying it.
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence deserves a place in my mildly spicy place of hate and regret. At the time that game was released I lived in a place where strange things happened, things didn't make any sense. So one day a debt collection agency sent a giro for me to collect some money, 60-70 bucks or so, it was really strange as I had no debt nor had I ever paid any money to them. It wasn't a fake check or anything, it was the real thing. So I went into the city, collected the free money and wandered around. I saw a place selling games, went in and saw a new Castlevania for the PS2. I like Castlevania so I spent the debt collectors money on it, went home, played it and... I hadn't actually spent any of my own money on the game, but I still felt cheated.
