Probably still jamming out to YM2612 tracks on my MiSTer Genesis core.

Jeff really blew through that first part whereas I spent a while listening the different weird radio stations, feeding the pet, panning the video cam, and trying to eat those dessicated food packets. I do have just barely enough space in my office to pull off room scale, but I did knock a couple things off my desk. The Valve Index finger tracking works well so far.

This is easily one of the best looking games ever made. The stream doesn't do it justice.

For some reason the tone shift of the game reminds me of the tone shift Diablo 2 took with Diablo 3. The slight bit of goofiness in Doom (2016) was about all I would want. Eternal seems to be going overboard for my taste and too cartoony. The chatty boss "smash the heretic" seems so lame to me.

$60 is way too much for me, but if it's like the rest of the Mystery Dungeon series, there should be a lot of content, at least. Maybe it'll spark some enthusiasm for more traditional Rogue-likes. I love a good dungeon crawl.

Looks like a good remake, but I will only buy big games like this on PC these days. Maybe it'll get a release there one day. The episodic nature is bummer as well.

I played these episodes as they were coming out and waited a long time for the last episode to show up like many others. I had some excitement over Act V because the whole thing leading up to it was weird, and I like weird games, and was hoping for more of a payoff in the end. There were some good moments in the previous acts among some mediocrity that benefited from the acts being short, but I found Act V to be a conclusion that feels more like an epilogue. It was cute, but I honestly dozed off a few times during the hour or so it took to play, and I was left unsatisfied. Maybe I should go back and do the whole thing over again, but it was sort of mediocre with weird aesthetics 7 years ago too, so I probably won't. It's artistic for sure, but I would never point a non-gamer to this as a shining example of why video games are art.

@devoureroftime: Yeah, it was significant because it made me realize how amazing fighting games can be. I'm not good at it, but XIII was magical in its prime.

@definiterobot: Dark Bramble was a little bit of a struggle which is why I saved it for last, but I was glad to have stuck with it. Once you realize how to exploit it with your tools, it becomes really interesting and horrifying to think about the implications of this construct. It's also easy to miss one of the log entries about the bramblefish's weakness. That said, even when I had everything figured out, it was a tense traversal every time.
