I also lost a friend to suicide when I was 23. We weren't the closest of friends, but we hung out a lot in high school and college and I liked to think I knew him pretty well. I had just moved across the country, leaving behind him and many other high school friends, when I heard about his death on Facebook. It was shocking. He was always a fun and outgoing guy, but he had his issues that in retrospect must have been more serious than he ever let on. I flew back home and cried my way through the funeral. I tried to take part in the informal wake our friends put on, but instead I just went home and crawled into bed. I've been lucky enough to not lose anyone else close to me since then, but of course it's just a matter of time.

"But at the same time, me, as a developer, being turned from a millionaire into a multimillionaire, by effectively tricking a bunch of people into wasting money on something they’ll never use? I, personally, don’t feel good about that."

No one whines more about having money than a millionaire. Its just such a burden.

@Majkiboy: Actually, a local official in Sweden pretty much did just that. Said effectively that highly technical simulators are so easily available that learning how to actually operate a train would be trivial. I'd link to the story, but... I'm lazy.
