Heya Ryan, I hope this message finds you well, wherever you are. Just wanted to leave you and the GB crew my heartfelt condolences. Even as I've moved on from gaming over the past couple of years, you and your site has never let me down in terms of entertaining, fair, and balanced content.

RIP, mate, you will be missed, dearly.

Thank you all for your response, as you guys and girls clearly have far better knowledge about this then i do i have another question:

I currently have a HD 6870 was thinking of upgrading to a hd 7950 (if i don't build a machine from scratch) but would i see a dramatic difference as my processor is a Phenom II X4 955 and with my limited knowlege I dont think that processor is all that great (?) would it bottleneck so to speak?

List your specs.

Being only one generation removed GPU-wise is absolutely no reason to upgrade, if you're looking for "a good time" to do so.

Hello again, GiantBomb, long time no see.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Ouendan/EBA series of games that iNiS put out for the DS, so I was psyched to see what looks like a spiritual sequel many months ago.

I understand that this game came out in September for iOS, and had a listed release date for Tegra 3 Android devices as Q3/Autumn 2012. Those dates have come and gone; does anyone know where it's gone?

Is this another bugged event? I've ran through Rakkis Crossing at least 20 times today in both "Siegebreaker" and "Heart of Sin" on Nightmare, and the event has yet to appear once.

Where on RC is it supposed to spawn, specifically?

I don't have to have it done on a laptop. I will buy a desktop, if that is sincerely the one you think is better for gaming.

Honestly, forget about gaming on a laptop. It's just not worth it. A desktop has lower upkeep at the expense of portability (i.e. you don't need to invest $800+ every few years for a new laptop when the weaksauce GPU [discrete or not] becomes dated), and you can just spend $350 every 5 years or so to upgrade parts that are bottlenecking.

Put it this way. I paid $780 for my computer 4.5 years ago, and the only thing beginning to show its wear right now is the GPU. I will probably spend somewhere in the ballpark of $200 for an Nvidia GTX 760Ti a year or two from now.

Plus, the capital investment for a desktop is much cheaper anyhow, and your i3 laptop should be good enough for all of your productivity needs.

Long time no see, GB duders.

Anyway, I've been trying to do the Act II achievements in D3. The two of which are a massive pain are the "Wheel of Misfortune" and "Nooks and Crannies" by proxy. Thus, two questions:

Does anyone have tips for farming the Ancient Device effectively? It seems to never spawn for me on Nightmare.

Also, does the Old Fisherman's Cell in the Dahlgur Oasis have a specific look to it? (I.E. Does it always spawn in a specific-looking location like the Mysterious Cave at the south side of the map?) If so, can you describe it?

A: Not to snub you but you're probably better off asking about this on a dedicated Debian forum.

B: Back up that 8-gig flash drive. Based on personal and anecdotal experience, they tend to die out of spite whenever you really need to get at that data.

A: I was going to ask on Tested, but their forums are essentially broken. I'm also not a Linux power user, so I'll probably be written off as a failure right away.

B: I also have a 2TB external, which it is backed up to, but I'm currently using its mounting bracket to salvage data off of a dead drive for a friend.

I have a spare 1GB USB stick around, and a bit of free time on my hands. What I essentially want to do is to create my own live build of (preferably) Ubuntu or Debian for two simple purposes: speedy bootup on a netbook, and web browsing.

I want to install a persistent USB build to my 1GB stick, and have it literally include only the following: XFCE, Firefox Aurora (the dev channel), Google Chrome (again, the dev channel), and a terminal client. The only reason I request persistence is for updates (as both programs update frequently). Any suggestions?

Don't want to sound particularly MacGyver-ish, but all I have on hand is my Windows 7 desktop, a single DVD+RW, an 8GB flash drive with valuable data on it, and said 1GB flash drive.

What I find strange is that Screened and Anime Vice still have the whole Whiskey bar on the bottom.

The most recent is Uncharted 3.

Not that it was a horrible game, but it wasn't worth the preorder, nor was it worth full price. An altogether worse game than its predecessors.

I'm not saying this to be a troll. I genuinely feel this way. Uncharted 3 was not a great game.
